Description
The School Services Group Facilitator is responsible for fulfilling a role that provides a coordination of behavioral health services within the elementary school setting. This includes group and individual supports provided to students as well as coordination of services and outreach between the school and the family. This position provides facilitation of structured children's services, skills training, and emotion coaching, for children in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. The Group Facilitator should possess the understanding of age appropriate behavioral supports, child development, and direct experience working with children, especially within a school setting.
- Schedule: Tues- 8:30am to 11:30am, Wed-11:30am to 2:30pm, Thur-1:30pm to 4:30pm, Fri-8:30am to 11:30am (20 hours total per week).
- This is a temporary position. The expected duration is December '23 to March '24 with a possibility to become a permanent position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (with or without accommodation):
- Screen, evaluate, schedule, support, and continually evaluate referred members in need of services.
- Assist members in securing necessary behavioral health services from EBF or other appropriate providers.
- Engage caregivers/children in defining issues, creating goals and identifying strengths to meet their individual needs and objectives.
- Facilitate children's groups using evidenced-based curriculum.
- Participate in ongoing program planning, development, and training.
- Provide direct care and supervision of clients in group setting.
- Assist in the development of activity plans and preparation for each group/session.
- Provide meaningful teaching opportunities, experiences, and physical assistance for groups or individuals that include: social skills, self-care, and recreational activities.
- Perform solution-focused interventions.
- Focus on the safety and well-being of the child(ren) and families in all aspects of work.
- Develop a culturally sensitive rapport and professional relationship with members, families and community partners.
- In coordination with the treatment team, review progress/barriers
- Maintain member records in accordance with agency requirements.
- Provide complete documentation and reporting of member behavioral health services in accordance with agency requirements.
- Attend and participate in all professional meetings and clinical staffing as required
- Ensure services are provided in a culturally competent manner.
- Utilize supervision effectively, accept feedback in a professional manner, and accept responsibility for job performance.
- Maintain professionalism with staff, outside agencies and members at all times; represent EBF in a professional manner.
- Adhere to all EBF policies, procedures and protocols in addition to State/RHBA regulations.
- Understand and maintain sensitive information within the confines of need-to-know parameters following HIPPA guidelines.
- Maintain EBF documentation, timelines, and quality standards set forth by agency requirements.
- Attend required professional development opportunities and maintain knowledge of effective approaches
- As assigned participate in staff training.
- Any other duties as assigned based on the needs of the assigned work location.
Requirements
Education -
- GED/High School and 1 year of related/ BH experience (or 4 years related or behavioral health experience).
Experience -
- 1-year experience working with children (childcare, education, preschool teaching, mentoring, tutoring, boys and girls club, etc.).
- Experience cannot be from a personal experience such as parenting or caring for a sibling.
Regulatory -
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Clean criminal background check and the ability to obtain and maintain an AZ DPS Level 1 fingerprint clearance card.
- Current valid, unrestricted driver's license, wiliness to use personal vehicle, proof of insurance, and a driving record that meets the standards of the agency.
- Must be able to meet training and agency compliance requirements for the position (CPR/ First Aid, Relias, etc.).
