Overview:
The Monona Grove School District is seeking a qualified School Nurse Substitute.
Responsibilities:
- Provide basic emergency care for illness or injury to students.
- Notify parents/guardians and appropriate personnel of non-emergency and emergency situations as needed, per school protocol and policies.
- Provide staff with essential information on student health conditions.
- Administer medicine pursuant to Board policy.
- Maintain records regarding immunization.
- Contact parents, when necessary, in completing state reports.
- Serve as coordinator/case manager for students' 504 plans.
- Communicate and coordinate with students' external healthcare providers.
- File and chart health records, including medication, accidents, and other important record data.
- Maintain an inventory of supplies and orders supplies for health area when appropriate.
- Administer emergency medication to students.
- Screen for communicable diseases per district standard of practice.
- Assist with personal hygiene cares, toileting cares and diabetic testing and care.
- Lead staff trainings on health services topics.
- Deliver classroom presentation to students on health-related topics.
- Provide guidance to and collaborate with a team of health assistants.

Experience and Training:
- Valid Wisconsin Driver's License required.
- Experience working in a school setting preferred.
- Previous experience in working with the public and/or young people preferred.

License Requirement:
- Registered Nurse (RN) or LPN license preferred.
