BronxCare is seeking experienced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurses to join our Health System and provide medically relevant care for patients who have been admitted with status of requiring critical care. The ideal candidate will have previous NICU experience in a hospital setting as a Registered Nurse. The prior experience will ensure that patients received the very best care by qualified nurses with this level of experience.
The open NICU roles are for RN’s who are available on a full-time basis and can work 3x12’s. BronxCare has both day and night shifts available. The previous experience will allow BronxCare to transition you over into our staff where our nurses make a difference.

Other Requirements
NICU nurses MUST possess exceptional communication skills. This staff nurse role requires constant communication with physicians, Patient Care Managers, A.N.C.C’s as well as patients and families of patients
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and specialized nursing care to newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- Monitor and assess the condition of premature or critically ill infants
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by physicians
- Perform procedures such as catheterizations, IV insertions, and blood draws
- Monitor vital signs and observe for any changes in the baby's condition
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate parents on infant care and provide emotional support during their stay in the NICU
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a NICU setting
- Ability to catheterize infants when necessary
- Strong attention to detail and excellent critical thinking skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and make quick decisions in emergency situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
