JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Works under the supervision of the Executive Director, Senior Leadership, and school administrators to achieve organizational goals and positive health outcomes.Ensure the organization maintains compliance with DESE and Department of Public Health (DPH) regulatory requirements for medication management, public health mandates and all functions required for the ongoing sustainability of health services at SCEC. Responsible for the clinical supervision and support of the health services nursing team members.Collaborates with administrators during the student intake process to ensure we receive the required medical information and students meet state immunizations requirements prior to enrollment.Must be available on-call to respond to and/or provide consultation on urgent medical situations involving students, staff, or administration. Must understand the functionality of each staff role and be able to fill in and provide appropriate coverage as needed. Provide oversite to medical waste management program and ensure quality control over infection control practices.
Works in collaboration with the Director of Finance for all matters related to budget planning for staffing, supplies and supportive services. Works in collaboration with Human Resources (HR) to identify staffing needs and actively participates in the recruitment, interviewing and onboarding processes of health services personnel to ensure staffing levels meet the operational needs of the organization. Ensures appropriate licensure, certification, and continuous professional development standards are met and maintained by all health services professionals. Works with HR to support health and wellness programs across the Collaborative.
Works with key members of administration and school physician to develop, implement and evaluate health related policies and procedures.Works in collaboration with SCECs Safe Schools team to assist in the development and implementation of medical emergency response plans. Supports the school physician in their role at SCEC and collaborates to support safe management. Able to develop and present Mandated Medical training including Medication Administration and Universal Precautions and other in-services in accordance with the organizations accreditation requirements.Serve as contributing member of the Wellness Committee and review policy annually.
