Qualifications: Education/Certification:High school diploma or GEDQualifies for appropriate state paraprofessional certificationSome college and/or technical training preferred Special Knowledge/Skills:Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAble to maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholdersAbility to multi-task activitiesKnowledge of behavior and social skill intervention techniques and methodologyAble to work with students with significant behavioral needsAble to develop and deliver professional developmentTrained in CPI or other crisis intervention program Experience:None Major Responsibilities and Duties:Program SupportAddress unauthorized persons for questioning and then reroutes or detains them.Patrol halls and checks on restrooms to prevent students from congregating and loitering.Periodically check parking lots for parking authorization.Monitor in SAC class when necessary.Monitor cafeteria during lunch periods.Assist with canine inspection.Perform bus duty.Work with at-risk students to help improve student performance at school.OtherMaintain confidentiality.Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:NoneEvaluationPerformance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of Instructional Paraprofessional Personnel.
