ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION EQUIVALENT TO COMPLETION OF HIGH SCHOOL AND THREE MONTHS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE.
BASIC FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITY: Promote safety and well-being of students as they interact during school hours.
Monitor halls, cafeteria, restrooms, and common areas for unauthorized individuals on school property.

Student Support:
• Assist in the maintenance of appropriate discipline and student safety in the school according to campus and District policies and procedures.
• Identify students in violation of Student Code of Conduct and report to administrator. Report suspicious activities to school administrator and/or the School Resource Officer, if appropriate.
• Report all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, discipline issues, and any other issues to the appropriate authority immediately, or as soon as reasonably possible.
• Assist in resolving parent/student issues and concerns in a timely manner.
• Assist in managing student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
Support of Administrative, Fiscal and/or Facilities Functions:
• Monitor the school premises by checking students for identification and/or hall passes.
• Identify and escort unauthorized personnel to the front office.
• Monitor cafeteria during lunch times and bus loading zones before and after school.
• Communicate effectively with staff, parents, students, and all visitors.
• Provide assistance to campuses/departments as requested. Organization Improvement:
• Work collaboratively to improve programs.
Professional Growth and Development:
• Participate in professional development that increases effectiveness and improves District performance.
School/Community Relations:
• Interact positively with employees and the community to provide needed information and to promote the District in a favorable manner.
Organization Morale:
• Participate in team building activities and the decision-making process as appropriate.
• Communicate and collaborate with campus/department staff to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Other Responsibilities:
• Comply with policies established by federal and state law, including but not limited to State Board of Education and local Board policy.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Knowledge of basic first aid and training in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
• Skill in coping with a variety of students in varied situations.
• Skill in working effectively and cooperatively with school age children and others.
ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS: Education equivalent to completion of high school and three months of related work experience.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS:
• Maintain emotional control under stress.
• Work with frequent interruptions.
• Bend, stoop, reach, grasp, and lift up to approximately 20 lbs on a frequent basis.
• Stand and/or walk for more than four (4) hours per day.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
• Work is normally performed in a setting related to an educational environment, but not limited to hallways with moderate exposure to bacteria and communicable diseases, occasional exposure to physical risk and distressed individuals within the immediate work environment.
• Constant interpersonal interactions are required within the educational environment.
• Exposure to a moderate to loud environment.
