School Food Service Worker

Purpose: Responsible for serving food to school children and maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including public health and safety.

Job Summary: Serves food and maintains the kitchen, serving, and dining area.

General Responsibilities:

• Serve breakfast daily to elementary, middle, and high school students (maximum of 150 students)
• Serve lunch daily to elementary, middle, and high school students (maximum of 150 students) from steam table
• Set up service area daily
• Complete Daily Production Logs
• Washing and sanitizing of dishes
• Daily cleaning and sanitation of the Kitchen and Cafeteria areas
• Responsible for ensuring kitchen and Cafeteria adhere to Health Code standards
• Weekly ordering of milk
• Receives delivers and rotates inventory
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma
• Experience: 1 years experience in School Cafeteria preferred
• Knowledge of Child Nutrition guidelines
• Food Handler Certification a plus

Computer / Software Skills:

• Microsoft Office: Knowledge in all applications
• Mosaic Experience a plus

Physical Demands:

• Frequently required to sit, stand, walk and frequent stairs. Required to move about multi-level building, using stairs.
• Occasionally required to bend and/or lift (no more than 50 pounds).

Work Environment:

• Educational setting; ability to work with students
