School Custodian - Pm (Full-Time)

SCHOOL CUSTODIAN - FULL-TIME NIGHT

Reports to: Director of Facilities

Status: Hourly, non-exempt, 12-month position

Hours:

Full-time position, typical hours are 3:30 - 11:30, Monday - Friday

Purpose: To ensure the school campus is kept neat, clean and operational at all times.

Duties:

• Cleaning all assigned classrooms, emptying trash cans and pencil sharpeners, cleaning white boards, desk tops and chairs, cleaning and dusting window sills.
• Cleaning all assigned restrooms daily; mopping and sanitizing floors; emptying all trash cans.
• Vacuuming carpet and sweeping floors in assigned classrooms, hallways and public areas.
• Assisting the Facilities team on special projects during school breaks when students are not present.
• Checking for, and reporting, any safety and security concerns or damage to school property.
• Ensuring that all lights and air are turned off and all doors are locked after cleaning each room.
• Assisting with the set-up and breakdown of chairs, tables and equipment for school events, as well as the post event clean-up.
• Other duties as assigned by the Custodial Supervisor, Director of Facilities, or Director of Operations.

Minimum Requirements:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.

2. One-year custodial experience. School experience is preferred but not required.

3. Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Able to bend, squat, climb. Able to push and pull heavy carts and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

4. Outstanding interpersonal skills with a strong customer service focus (internal and external)

5. Strong written and oral communication skills with an ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders of the school

6. Highly ethical team player

7. High energy, self-starter with ability to successfully prioritize and multi-task in an atmosphere in which time sensitive deadlines are the norm, as are interruption.

8. Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Able to push, pull, lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
