- Counsel students to help them understand and overcome personal, social, or behavioral problems affecting their educational or vocational situations.
- Counsel students regarding educational issues, such as course and program selection, class scheduling and registration, school adjustment, truancy, study habits, and career planning.
- Complete all student schedules for grades 9-12, as requested by the administrator.
- Help students develop academic plans (EDPs) in accordance with their skills, talents, and strengths.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
- Support the school IEP team and contribute to action items related to special education requirements and student needs. IEP attendance for students in served grade-levels is required.
- Facilitate crisis intervention and prevention programs.
- Assist school administrators and educators with planning and carrying out school related programs and events.
- Facilitate advisory for assigned students.
- Complete suicide assessment screener and intervention for served students, when applicable.
- Provide Crisis Intervention/Mental Health Guidance Counseling.
- Provide mental health webinars/lessons for served students and parents, as requested by the Administrator.
- Provide social/emotional learning lessons for served students, as requested by the Administrator.
- Meet with all high school students for academic planning.
- Prepare reports on students and activities as required by administration.
- Complete documentation required by programs or regulations.
- Attend professional conferences and workshops related to the overall guidance program.
- Provide webinars for high school students on career interests, career preparation, college, and SAT preparation.
- Maintain college, career readiness and scholarship programs for high school students.

- Master’s degree in appropriate discipline required.
- 2-5 years of experience as a school guidance counselor preferred.
- Valid School Counselor license required.
- Knowledge of Skyward a plus.
- Virtual experience a plus.
This role requires work between 8am and 4pm, Monday through Friday and additional hours as needed. This is a full-time, salary position that requires 40 hours plus, if necessary to complete required tasks. This is a remote position, but the hours are not flexible.
