Position Type: Full-Time, 30+ hours
4 Days Per Week
Caseload: Pre-K - 4th grade
Pay range: $30 - 37/hr.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students, addressing a wide range of academic, social, and emotional concerns.
• Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify students' needs, strengths, and areas for development.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff members to create prehensive support plans for students.
• Assist students in developing problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills.
• Promote a positive school climate by implementing prevention and intervention strategies related to bullying, peer pressure, and other social issues.
• Deliver classroom presentations and workshops on topics such as academic success, career exploration, and mental health awareness.
• Support students' transition to new schools, grades, or educational programs, providing guidance and resources.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records, ensuring pliance with legal and ethical guidelines.
• Stay updated on current research and best practices in counseling, incorporating innovative approaches into your work.
• Collaborate with munity resources and external agencies to provide additional support and referrals as needed.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and relevant school events.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field.
• Valid counseling license or certification is required.
• Proven experience working as a School Counselor, preferably in a bilingual or multicultural setting.
• Deep understanding of child and adolescent development, as well as the impact of cultural diversity on students' well-being.
• Knowledge of evidence-based counseling techniques and strategies for addressing various academic, social, and emotional issues.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students, families, and staff members.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Empathy, passion, and the ability to provide non-judgmental support to students.
• Familiarity with educational systems and munity resources available to support students' needs.
• Adherence to professional ethics and confidentiality guidelines.
• Proficiency in using technology and counseling software.
