Job Description:

As a School Contract Program Manager at Tutor Doctor Hawaii, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of tasks aimed at enhancing the educational experience of students and supporting schools in achieving their academic goals. This position involves a mix of working remotely, reporting to our main office in Manoa, and making visits to our contracted schools across the state. Your role will encompass the following key responsibilities.

Administrative and Operational Management Responsibilities

  • Ensure all pre-start actions are completed to begin programs on scheduled start dates.
  • Support first-day actions and monitor ongoing support operations.
  • Efficiently schedule and coordinate tutoring and class sessions, ensuring optimal coverage and timely assistance to students.
  • Complete monthly reports and ensure employee timesheets are completed daily.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of dedicated tutors to ensure the highest quality educational support for students.
  • Raise and resolve issues to improve program delivery.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify opportunities for setting up new tutoring programs in schools and educational institutions.
  • Work with an assistant(s) to complete day-to-day tasks
  • Problem solve and manage employees schedules

School Engagement and Resource Management Responsibilities

  • Routinely check in with school principals and take prompt action on resulting items.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with school staff and administrators to provide regular program updates, address concerns, and foster strong partnerships.
  • Maintain and validate inventory of equipment at school campuses.
  • Control costs while delivering required support according to program guidelines.
  • Plan, conduct, and attend family meetings/events in coordination with staff and schools.
  • Validate daily documentation of student attendance and ensure only eligible students are supported.
  • Develop appropriate curriculum, activities, and projects for supported programs, including STEAM projects.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve our curriculum to meet the specific needs of each school and enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Become proficient in various learning software systems to facilitate effective tutoring sessions and support students in utilizing these resources.
  • When needed, step in as a substitute tutor to assist students and maintain program continuity.
  • Ensure students are assessed at appropriate intervals and develop corrective action plans as needed.
  • Proactively communicate with principals and school representatives to organize additional classes and opportunities, contributing to the continued growth and expansion of the program.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field preferred.
  • Experience in education or program management is preferred.
  • Experience working with Title I students and familiarity with DOE guidelines is helpful.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using educational software systems, Microsoft and Google applications.
  • Prior experience in a managerial role in any setting.
  • Confidently promote and grow the program and engage in effective communication with principals and school representatives to establish and maintain partnerships and participation.
  • Ability to think quickly and adapt seamlessly to dynamic and changing situations.
  • Previous experience in program coordination, project management or education-related roles is a plus.
  • Dedication to enhancing the educational experience of students.

Salary

We offer two compensation packages for this position.

  • A flat salary of $23 per hour with potential for advancement.
  • A comprehensive compensation package featuring a base salary of $35,000, complemented by commission payouts determined by contracted services.

Requirements:

  • Scheduled hours are flexible and self-scheduled but candidate must have some availability Monday through Friday 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM.
  • This position is primarily remote, with occasional reporting to our main office in Manoa and visits to contracted schools statewide
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to various schools as needed. This position also requires some inter-island travel.
  • Must be willing to complete a criminal background check
