In collaboration with other health care personnel, prepares and compiles records and completes data entry for assigned nursing unit. Scheduling of all surgical cases with OR Manager. Assisting the OR Manager in day to day operations.

Essential Job Functions
- Acts as receptionist for area or unit, greeting doctors, patients, guests, visitors, answering questions and providing assistance within scope of responsibility.
- Performs daily clerical duties related to procedures such as scheduling OR cases and maintaining joint communication between OR Manager/OR Coordinator and Chief of Anesthesia
- Prepares and processes requisitions for diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients as directed.
- Maintains stock of routine supplies in area or unit according to par level, ensuring adequate inventory.
- Provides clerical support to the assigned department.
- Maintains log of patient information; retrieves statistical data originating from patient records identifying care the patient received and the supplies used.
- Enters accurate patient charges utilizing documentation provided by staff and assigns charges appropriately.
- Proofs, corrects, verifies and enters accurate patient charges.
- Compiles statistical data in preferred format for data entry and/or for preparation of management reports.

- Applies the principles and values of customer service and continuous performance improvement while performing day to day activities of the position.

Minimum Requirements
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Certification, Licensure: None required
Experience, Training, Knowledge: Two (2) years clerical experience in a health care setting. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
Physical Requirements
Requires reaching, grasping, handling, and/or feeling five (5) or more hours per day in order to record data, operate computer/word processing equipment, etc.; visual acuity must be able to distinguish between all ranges of color to maintain various records/reports, prepare forms, utilize automated processes, comprehension of written instructions, etc.; audio acuity to respond to requests, instruction and questions.. Must be able to read, speak, and write English fluently.
Working Conditions/Environmental Exposures
Environmental hazards such as chemicals, solvents, needles, needle containers, sharps, blood, body fluids, various infectious/communicable diseases, infectious medical waste, radiation, and/or radioactive materials and/or radioactive waste, proximity to moving mechanical parts. Protective clothing/equipment may be necessary.
