Must be able to operate pallet lift, lathe, tape measure, utility knife, and grinder.
Ability to read measuring instruments, including tape measure.
Must be able to read and adjust machine parameters using computer program and controls.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a harmonious manner and interact in a cooperative way with supervisors and co-workers.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Must wear or use all required personal protective equipment.
Read, understand and adhere to rules and guidelines stated in the Employee Handbook.
Must have understanding of start up and shut down operations.
Ensure product quality standards are maintained for all products and conform to Quality system procedures and documentation.
Perform required recordkeeping and documentation.
Assist with all training of all new and temporary employees assigned to the work area.
Monitor operating condition of equipment and machinery at shear area.
Communicate any equipment failure or other issues to supervisor and write work orders, as necessary.
Maintain clean work area throughout the work-day and follow all safety procedures and rules.
Must be able to work various shifts, as determined by business and production requirements.
Perform other work as directed by Supervisor
Prep Work
1. Conduct safety check on equipment and machines.
2. Report unsafe equipment to supervisor and maintenance.
3. Communicate with the lead operator on specifics of glass needed.
4. Inform lead operator on defective doffs in the Mat Room prior to start up.
5. Check cutters and rollers prior to start up.
6. Assure roving blowers and humidifier is operating.
7. Assure vacuum system is operating.
8. Vacuum hanging or loose glass around mat chamber.
9. Make sure correct glass distribution is selected for the product to be run.
10. Make sure top surface of each doff is cleaned before use.
Start Up
1. Mat Room Operator will respond to lead operator commands on start up.
2. Mat Room Operator will set and adjust reflectors to insure proper glass distribution.
Ownership
1. Hanging glass and wrap ups in the Mat Room.
2. Glass ratio.
3. House keeping in the Mat Room.
4. Maintain KPI and information boards.
5. Recording all sufficient data.
6. Complete "glass strands" log each day.
7. Record defects per doff.
8. Reporting mechanical issues.
Weekly Assignment
1. Grinding of rollers.
