About the Role:
As a Document Scanner, you will play a vital role in our organization by accurately and efficiently converting physical documents into digital formats. Your primary responsibility is to operate scanning equipment to digitize various types of documents, ensuring high-quality images and proper organization of electronic files. This role requires attention to detail, proficiency with scanning technology, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Use scanning equipment, such as document scanners and multi-function devices, to digitize paper documents, photographs, and other materials.
- Ensure that scanned images are clear, legible, and free of errors or artifacts by adjusting settings and performing quality checks as necessary.
- Prepare documents for scanning by removing staples, paperclips, and other obstructions, and arranging pages in the correct order for scanning.
- Organize scanned documents into electronic folders or databases according to established filing systems, naming conventions, or indexing methods.
- Input metadata or indexing information associated with scanned documents into database systems or document management software accurately.
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues with scanning equipment, such as paper jams or image distortion, and collaborate with technical support as needed to resolve problems.
- Prioritize scanning tasks based on urgency and volume, and coordinate with team members to ensure timely completion of assignments.
- Handle sensitive or confidential documents with discretion and maintain confidentiality of information throughout the scanning process.
- Maintain accurate records of scanned documents, including tracking progress, documenting errors or discrepancies, and updating inventory systems as necessary.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to document scanning, data privacy, and information security.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is preferred.
- Proven experience in document scanning, imaging, or related field is advantageous.
- Familiarity with document scanning equipment and software, including flatbed scanners, sheet-fed scanners, and optical character recognition (OCR) technology.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while working with repetitive tasks.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including basic knowledge of file management, scanning software, and data entry.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Commitment to confidentiality and adherence to information security protocols when handling sensitive documents.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
