About the SAP Internship Experience Program

The SAP Internship Experience Program is SAP’s global, strategic, paid internship program that provides university students with opportunities to find purpose in their careers.

What you’ll do:

  • Position title: UX Design Intern
  • Location: Palo Alto, CA (3 days/wk in Palo Alto office)
  • Expected start date: Sep, 2024
  • Contract duration: 8 months
  • Work hours: 40 hours per week

 

What you'll do:

The projects will be cross-product UX initiatives that work across different applications/products within SAP Ariba, ensuring a consistent and positive User Experience (UX) throughout. 

The Design Intern will work on designing new patterns or improving existing ones. The tasks could involve:

  • Identifying user needs and pain points related to the current process.
  • Researching existing patterns and industry best practices.
  • Collaborating with teams to define the scope and functionality of the patterns.
  • Designing the User Experience (UX) for interacting with cross-functional teams.
  • Creating documentation and guidelines.

The key deliverables will include: 

  • Creating digital mockups of the design ideas using software like Figma or other tools.
  • Creating prototypes (low-fidelity or high-fidelity) to test design ideas and gather user feedback.
  • Refining designs based on user feedback and research to improve the overall UX.
  • Presenting the design ideas to stakeholders and showcasing the design thinking process.
  • Preparing functional specifications detailing the pattern's capabilities.

Additional skill:

  • Effectively communicating design ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Keeping up with the latest UX trends and design tools.
  • Being able to analyze user data and research findings to inform design decisions.

 

What you bring:

  • A Bachelor's or higher degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
  • A fantastic online portfolio.
  • Ability to leverage and expand upon well-established design system.
  • Proficient in Figma and basic UX prototyping skills.

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 31 - 62/hr USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
