Position title: SAP iXp Intern - LLMs forMLOps & Data Scientist Analysis
Location: Newport Beach. CA
Expected start date: May- October 2024
What you'll do
1. Familiarize with the LLMs available in SAP and the Demand Forecast Service (DFS).
2. Build a Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) model that uses available DFS documents as a Data Scientist assistant.
3. Generate or enhance the necessary high-quality content for the RAG model.
4. Enhance the RAG model to run the model and forecast procedures in DFS and then run the analysis scripts.
5. Use function-calling features of LLM frameworks to combine LLMs with structured output of well-defined functions.
6. Enhance the RAG model to create customer reports (visualization) based on a user's prompt.
7. Use the RAG model to compare the new syndicated dataset with the previous versions and explain the differences.
8. Compare the RAG model in similar reports over time, and summarize the differences to the users.
9. Deepen the RAG model to interpret the results for a Data Scientist, and explain the difference in forecasts between two data points considering the DFS equation.
Who you are:
1. Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
2. Basic understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and related technologies.
3. Familiarity with Python and Python libraries.
4. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly.
5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
6. Familiarity with MLOps and Data Scientist Analysis processes is a plus.
7. Experience with SAP and Demand Forecast Service (DFS) is a plus.
Meet your team
We are seeking an MSc-level intern with an entry-level understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and related technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying LLMs to support the MLOps and Data Scientist Analysis processes for Demand Forecasting models. The goal is to develop an advanced assistant that can perform much of the work under the command of a Data Scientist, including running models, interpreting hyperparameter configurations, running analysis scripts, and creating custom reports.

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP's commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the hourly base salary rate range applicable for the posted role. The targeted range for this position is 15 - 62 USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidates will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process.
