SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Sanitation Worker to join our team. As a Sanitation Worker, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in various settings, such as warehouses, food processing facilities, and commercial buildings. This is a physically demanding role that requires heavy lifting and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned

· Perform cleaning and sanitation of plant equipment and environment in a thorough and safe manner daily

· Operate pan washer machine (high temperature & high-pressure tunnel washer) and drum & barrel washer (high temperature & high-pressure stationary washer)

· Use of high-pressure & high temperature water through hoses to clean bakery machines, baking racks, large capacity mixing bowls, bakery tools, conveyors, floors and walls

· Move, stack and handle bakery machines, baking racks, large capacity mixing bowls, bakery tools and conveyors

· Disassemble equipment for cleaning and inspection, reassemble after cleaning and set up on production floor for morning production use

· Use of stationary foamer followed by scrubbing with pad or brush

· Use detergent & sanitizing chemicals (acid & alkaline) dispensed via proportioner (set PPM) or pre-measured (vendor mixed)

· Operate floor scrubber to clean floors and freezer floors

· Discard food waste and trash from production floor to waste compactor

· Place corrugate in bundling machine and secure bundle; discard metal and other various items being discarded into open top refuse containers and/or trailers for disposal

· Clean drains with foamer, scrubber and sanitizer

· Operate various cleaning systems and equipment

· Handle chemicals as required by the Chemical Control Program

· Ensure all required process checks (pre & post-cleaning, etc.) are performed at designated intervals

· Clean walls and walkways throughout the interior and exterior of the facility

· Clean restrooms: floors, walls, sinks, toilets and urinals

· Adhere to all current SSOP’s, safety, and quality requirements

· Maintain work areas in a safe, clean, organized manner throughout the facility

· Maintain cooperative working relationships and communication with employees from all departments

· Attend and follow all internal training that is required

· Maintain professional and positive attitude and work ethic

· Adhere to and enforce regulatory and compliance requirements

· Adhere to all safety requirements including PPE and GMP

· Ability to understand SSOPs and use to clean equipment and facility efficiently.

· Ability to coach other sanitation members in proper cleaning methods.

· Ability to learn and become a lead in sanitation.

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Experience:

· Previous experience in cleaning or sanitation preferred

· Familiarity with food production or food processing environments is a plus

· Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks for extended periods of time

· Knowledge of custodial procedures and best practices

· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately

· Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively

Skills:

· Cleanliness: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the work environment.

· Industrial Cleaning: Perform thorough cleaning of industrial equipment, surfaces, and facilities.

· Commercial Cleaning: Ensure cleanliness in commercial buildings by following established protocols.

· Fabrication: Prepare cleaning solutions and chemicals as required.

· Heavy Lifting: Ability to lift heavy objects or materials as necessary.

· Food Production: Familiarity with sanitation practices in food production environments.

· Sanitation: Follow proper procedures for sanitizing equipment, surfaces, and facilities.

· Custodial: Knowledge of custodial procedures for maintaining cleanliness.

· Warehouse: Experience working in warehouse settings with specific sanitation requirements.

· Food Processing: Understanding of sanitation practices in food processing facilities.

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma

· Detailed Oriented

· Self- Motivated

· Must be available to work flexible hours

· At least 1 year work experience as a sanitor in a food/beverage facility

· Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies

· Familiar with SDS

Language: Bilingual Preferred

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to work in a manufacturing plant sanitation environment

· Ability to push, pull, reach, stretch, bend, and walk during daily routine with ability to stand for long periods of time

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
