LOCATION: This position is an onsite role, based in Indianapolis, IN at the Clif Bar Plant.

Mission: Focus on continuous improvement across all the sanitation systems at Clif Bar Baking Company. This position will ensure a high level of employee safety, Food Safety, as well as efficient product and line changeovers. The Sanitation Manager will ensure compliance with Mondelez International standards and procedures for sanitation, government, and third-party regulations. Support and implement processes that meet the requirements of all internal and external audits.

Responsibilities & Outcomes:

  • Ensure personal safety, Food Safety and quality protocols are followed.
  • Ensure operators and staff are properly trained in chemical safety, use of sanitation equipment, and sanitation procedures.
  • Create and update Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) for the bakery.
  • Develop and provide training and assessments for performing SSOPs.
  • Lead and coordinate sanitation staff activities and goals.
  • Use continuous improvement tools, improve changeover efficiencies.
  • Provide input and leadership on the sanitary design of equipment and building changes or capital projects.
  • Manage chemical and cleaning supply inventories.
  • Manage the integrated pest management program.
  • Manage the food defense program
  • Support internal and external auditing functions.
  • Identify areas for process improvements through analysis of changeover data and process review. Includes identifying standard work practices where applicable.
  • Provides night and weekend coverage as needed, with on-call status with expectations of immediate response.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

  • Strong knowledge of acid, alkali, and sanitizing chemicals.
  • Knowledge of Safe Quality Foods (SQF) audit system.
  • Knowledge of Mondelez quality policies
  • Bachelor’s degree in science or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a production facility, preferably in a food processing plant.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience at training sanitation and production personnel.
  • Experience with previous manufacturing plant or line start-ups a strong plus.
  • Experience performing sanitation activities in an organic food manufacturing environment preferred.

Salary Range: $79,135- $102,850/yr
