Ascend Staffing has an immediate opening for a highly motivated Sand Blaster with a desire to work in a fast paced, quality centered environment.
Job Responsibilities:
• Prepare metal for painting, which includes sandblasting, wiping down steel to remove oil
and cutting fluids,
• Use measurement devices to measure & record sandblast profile
• Perform daily maintenance routines on blast equipment
• Clean blast booth, lights, and change filters
• Follow safe operating and lifting procedures
• Wear proper safety equipment
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent demonstrated ability to read, write and perform basic
math calculations.
• 1 or more year experience blasting in a production/Industrial environment.
• Ability to read tape measure digital and analog profiler and other handheld measuring
tools
• Knowledge of metal alloys various blast media and their properties (desired qualification)
Environment/Physical Requirements: This position is carried out in a fabrication shop environment and as such has the following physical work requirements:
• Must be able to lift 100lbs.
• Position requires ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Position may require bending, kneeling, and stooping.
• Exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, and chemicals.
