Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Innovation Manager – Spices, the Sample Specialist will deliver fast accurate sample fulfillment and response. This position will prioritize sample requests received and coordinate sampling out of ofi facilities globally.
The ideal candidate is someone who can work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring they are responsive to their colleagues and customers requesting samples. This candidate should be detailed oriented, very well organized and possess a desire to go above and beyond to support internal and external customers.
Position Responsibilities
- Facilitate and maintain an inventory of over 200 spice products and 50 nut products.
- Support sales, innovation, e-commerce, sauces, and private label product lines.
- Utilize SAP system to fulfill samples, pull batch data, product specifications, PO order requests and more.
- Independently operate sample department, effectively coordinating with teams at all spice facilities with a strong sense of urgency.
- Coordinate with operations team to create restock orders for inventory and collaborates within domestic and international innovation, Product Line Mangers, and Sales teams.
- Receive, fulfill, and ship samples, orders, and projects globally while handling all logistics efforts for the sample department.
- Order and maintain supplies inventory.
- Maintain daily data entry and traceability of all orders.
- Create and provide technical documentation to endpoint customer.
- Work on cross functional projects with ofi teams globally.
- Support projects within sample department and innovation team.
- Coordinate with and travel to/from Processing Plant and Warehouse facilities to receive inventory materials.
- Follow appropriate food safety practices/PPE, allergen, Good Manufacturing Practice, and Good Lab Practices where the position requires.
- Maintain job function SOPs with attention to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- High school diploma is required
- One (1) year previous customer service experience is required
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment is required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask and meet multiple competing demands is required.
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft office, is required. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines is required.
- Proven ability to build relationships and work well in a team is required.
- Ability lift up to 50 lb is required.
The pay for this role in the state of CA ranges from $21.00 - $28.00 and is based on the position responsibilities and geographic location. Actual pay within this range may be determined based on candidate’s experience, qualifications and/or other determining factors.
