Job description
Buck Mason is looking for a highly detail oriented and organized candidate with the intent to build and continually improve the sample management process. You'll be responsible for sample tracking and organizing, and managing our sample archive. This is a hands-on role in the HQ office.
Responsibilities
- Manage the tracking, processing, and organization of each season's sample sets.
- Build and maintain sample archive (3 year, rolling archive).
- Manage sample requests for large meetings, photoshoots, stylings, merchandising, and other needs.
- Process and project manage sample or product requests for special projects, PR, influencer, collaborations and other needs.
- Help coordinate samples on-set for photoshoots in collaboration with the Art Team.
- Coordinate with our Warehouse for requests and transfers of sample sets
- Facilitate samples being borrowed between internal departments with a check-in and check-out system
- Manage internal tracking system of samples
- Act as a liaison between vendors and cross-functional partners on sample status
- Track and receive samples from factory partners, and distribute to proper team members
- Process and monitor incoming and outgoing shipments, and act as the main contact for courier representatives
- Organize and maintain the vintage sample archive.
Requirements
- Comfortable with using spreadsheets and project management software (Asana)
- You preferably have retail, operations, or merchandising experience
- You are highly organized, and have extreme attention to detail
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and a fast-paced environment
- Entrepreneurial and high energy with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and tasks
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree from a fashion institution, apparel or merchandising program is a plus, but not required
- 3+ years of experience in APPAREL DESIGN & PRODUCTION or RETAIL/OPERATIONS
- Thorough understanding of garment categories and fabric types
- You must be able to lift up to 25lbs
- Must be able to work in our Buck Mason HQ office 4 days a week
Buck Mason designs updated, modern American classics for daily wear. Founded in 2013 by Sasha Koehn and Erik Allen, who were neighbors in Venice, California, they initially set up shop in a 350 square foot garage off Abbot Kinney Boulevard. Using old school manufacturing techniques combined with modern technology, they took an architectural approach to product with the goal of making fashion less complicated, building each piece to last beyond a single season.
