Job description

At EF Education First, we believe that the best way to learn about the world is to experience it. In our Gap Year and Study Abroad programs, we send college-aged students on immersive learning & personal growth experiences around the world. As the newest division in the EF Education First family of educational travel programs, we function as an internal startup, focused on growth and creating incredible experiences for our travelers.
On the Technology Team you’ll join a group of entrepreneurial, tech-savvy problem solvers who accelerate the business with the intentional application of technology to help more college-aged students experience the world through gap year or study abroad programs.
What you'll do
As a Salesforce Administrator, you will support the continued growth & scalability of the business by optimizing the systems that power our sales, service, & marketing teams. In this role you will:
  • Work with multiple teams to advise and execute the technical strategy to help empower our sales, service, & marketing users to work smoothly and autonomously
  • Leverage your keen understanding of the Salesforce ecosystem to triage and handle user reported issues, manage user access, and run the day-to-day operational needs of our Salesforce footprint
  • Continuously improve the reliability and performance of all aspects of our Salesforce ecosystem
  • Collaborate frequently with other technical team members to streamline processes and integrate Salesforce with related systems (order management, reporting, customer service, data warehouse, and more)
  • Be a leader when it comes to Salesforce technology choices. You'll work with leadership, users, and engineering to define, document, and evangelize best practices and help adopt and evolve the use of new offerings
Who you are
  • Experienced with and excited about solving business & customer problems through better processes & technology
  • Passionate about enabling Salesforce users to have the best possible experience
  • Strong aptitude and desire to learn, give and receive feedback, and grow outside of your comfort zone
  • Experienced in the Salesforce ecosystem of technologies and can quickly identify and handle common problems that arise (bonus points for experience with Apex)
  • Keen understanding of declarative development processes in Salesforce (such as flow process builder and macros)
  • Looking to grow, evolve, and improve practices on your team and across the organization
  • Curious, organized, and adept at communicating your questions and ideas to others.
What you'll be doing:
Your first week, you will
  • Onboard as an EF employee and Higher Ed team member – and maybe finish up some related paperwork
  • Meet with your manager to set up the tech, the accounts, the meetings, and the relationships you’ll need to be successful
  • Meet your team and your team lead, explore our Salesforce footprint, and shadow other team members as they resolve user problems
Your first month, you will...
  • Learn about our Gap Year & Study Abroad products and the business context of our projects, through trainings, guidance from your manager, and your own exploration
  • Acquaint yourself with team processes, technical standards, and how we measure success, through trainings, guidance from your team lead, and your own contributions
  • Begin shaping a professional development plan with your manager wherein you’ll grow your technical and professional knowledge and build connections to peers across our teams
Your first three months, you will...
  • Work with our Salesforce Product Owner to help define team goals to realize business opportunities, contribute to the strategy for achieving those goals, and own projects related to that work
  • Collaborate across technical domains to review work, help solve complex problems, and deepen your understanding of business offerings and technical platforms
  • Regularly meet with your manager to reflect on progress and sustain professional development
Why you’ll love working here
Work in our beautiful Cambridge office, where you'll enjoy comprehensive professional development, frequent social programming, and employee-run DEIB Resource Groups and clubs. You can expect:
  • Participate in our hybrid work environment where you’ll have the opportunity to work in our Cambridge office with the option to work up to 2 days remote per week.
  • To work with a high-energy team of problem solvers who genuinely enjoy their work and believe in our products.
  • The opportunity to travel on one of our programs every year with no cost and no impact on your paid vacation.
  • Four weeks paid vacation, ten paid holidays & two floating holidays.
  • Robust professional growth opportunities including monthly trainings, workshops, and inspiring talks with global leaders and experts.
  • 25% company match on your 401(k) contribution.
  • Excellent medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with life and disability insurance.
  • Paid international business travel.
  • Wellness benefits and a yearly fitness reimbursement.
  • EF program discounts include travel, language schools, childcare, and more.
  • Dependent care, healthcare, and commuter flexible spending accounts (FSAs).
  • Discounts at local venues and businesses.
  • Paid parking options available to local garages and first-come reservations for EF overflow lot. Employees have access to EF garages within the first year of employment based on waitlist. Inquire with recruitment team to learn more.
