At AMERICAN, the Sales Representative/Territory Manager establishes meaningful connections with respective accounts and prospective customers. Following up on active orders, inquiries, and future projects is a primary focus in this position. The Sales Representative/Territory Manager also provides market surveys with future marketing strategies, organizes time for most effective travel, and resolves customer complaints to the satisfaction of the client and company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establishes and develops long-term relationships with end users and engineers that will help influence the sales of AMERICAN products.
- Develops/maintains working relationship with ASP distributors.
- Follows up regularly with customers on active inquiries and developing projects.
- Practices sound territory management.
- Manages personnel and makes decisions in a manner consistent with the Company's Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Policy and Supervisory Training Policy
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must possess a bachelor's degree with technical related experience from an accredited four-year college or university. Proof of degree required. A transcript or diploma would be acceptable and must be provided.
- Must exhibit an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR) and possess a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to read and interpret specifications for projects involving our products.
- Willingness and able to transfer within the continental United States.
- Subject to departmental transfer to other engineering positions within the Sales Division (ADIP, AFC, Steel Pipe, International Sales, etc.).
- Must be willing and available to travel a minimum of 60% of the time. More travel may be required depending on sales territory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in technical and communication skills.
- Familiar with AMERICAN's manufacturing process.
