Job Summary
Kearney Crete & Block Company is looking for a high performing, results-oriented Individuals to join our team. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, hard worker, and reliable. This position markets, promotes,and sellsproducts manufactured and represented by Kearney Crete & Block and Kearney Ready Mixed Concrete according to profit standards, to construction and specialty contractors. Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Consistent and reliable attendance is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assists in the development and implementation of a strategic marketing plan for Kearney Crete and Block and Kearney Ready Mix Concrete.
Develops a comprehensive understanding of the companies’ products, as well as understanding the strengths and weaknesses of competitor’s products.
Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
Recruits and maintains new customers to expand customer base.
Assures bids on projects support the company profit standards/margins by executing price and product strategies in conjunction with the marketing plan.
Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to develop a business understanding of products and services that they may use now or in the future. May deal with customers in the field or by phone.
Work with internal groups during the bidding stages of a project, to assure products and services are consistent with the customer requirements and provides leads to other companies within the organization that may be able to provide services or products to meet the customer needs.
Maintains and tracks sales information pertinent to the project for jobs sold, lost or postponed.
Assists in developing and implementing the use of brochures, direct mailers, magazine ads and associated websites that is consistent with the strategic plan.
Attends and participates in all sales meetings, company meetings, and other events deemed necessary. Maintain involvement in industry associations. Attend trade shows when needed.
Assures credit and accounts receivable efforts are maintained with new and designated clients.
Represents the company according to a high level of professionalism, ethics, integrity and product knowledge.
Participates in quality control tasks, as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
- Associates Degree in marketing, construction or related field; and
- 3 years of previous comparable sales and service experience; preferably with construction, commercial masonry products or comparable industries; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference given to individuals with previous masonry products experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Valid driver’s license and be insurable with the company driver policy.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Experience in sourcing and developing a customer base
- Must be able to develop an intricate knowledge of how the products work—and the best way to install them—and pass that expertise on to the customer.
- Experience in Microsoft Office products and sales tracking software.
- Must be able to work occasional weekends and evenings based on business needs or customer requests. Some overnight travel may be required.
