Job Purpose
The Sales Representative will play a vital role in driving our company’s growth by identifying new business opportunities, building, and nurturing client relationships, and achieving sales targets.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Prospecting and Lead Generation
- Researching and identifying potential customers and market segments.
- Generating and qualifying leads through cold calling, networking, and research.
- Creating and maintaining a pipeline of potential clients.
- Cold calls and cold visits.
- Sales Presentations
- Conducting product/service presentations to potential customers.
- Tailoring solutions to meet the specific needs of clients.
- Addressing client questions and objections effectively.
- Shop tours
- Customer Relationship Management
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Providing exceptional customer service and support.
- Regularly communicating with clients to ensure their needs are met.
- Sales Targets and Reporting
- Setting and achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Maintaining accurate records of sales activities, leads, and client interactions.
- Preparing sales reports and forecasts for management.
- Market Research
- Staying up to date with industry trends and competitor activities.
- Providing feedback to the marketing and product development team based on market insights.
- Travel
- This role requires regular travel both in and out of state.
Preferred Qualifications
No prior experience is required for this position. However, having previous experience is a plus and can increase the starting wage for this position.
- Proven track record of success in B2B outside sales.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven attitude.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of sheet metal products is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Working Conditions
The Sales Representative will work in a fast-paced sales environment. In this position you will be expected to:
- Travel frequently, including local and out of state client meetings as well as out of state trade shows.
- Flexible schedule is required as you may need to work evenings or weekends to accommodate client meetings, networking events and trade shows.
- Manage your own schedule, client meetings, and sales strategies.
- This role may involve standing, walking, and carrying promotional materials or product samples during client visits or trade shows.
- Work under pressure to meet sales targets.
- Use various forms of technology, being comfortable with technology is essential.
- Handle varying levels of stress while staying calm and organized.
Salary Expectations
The Sales Representative position has a starting wage of $18.00 per hour and can go up based on knowledge and experience, as well as performance within the position. Commissions are a significant part of the compensation for this role and are negotiated prior to start of employment.
