Job Description
The Pre-Sell Representative is responsible for meeting all sales and merchandising standards in their accounts. Work to achieve Impact Selling account-specific goals and is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with customers. First in First out product rotation for freshness is an extremely important component of this position and needs to be checked at every account every time.
Primary Duties:
- Maintain regular call frequency to the assigned off-premise accounts with the buyers.
- Develop a business relationship with customers and discuss sales trends.
- Responsible for product rotation and stocking the shelves, displays, reach-in coolers, and organizing back stock.
- Ensure that close dated product is monitored and returned to the warehouse or sold through the account before the pull date.
- Ensure all product packaging reflects the integrity of packaging standards and remove those that do not.
- Report breakage and out of code to the Sales & Service Representative.
- Monitor and report all competitive activity (i.e., new products/packages, pricing, sampling, display initiatives, resets).
- Sell in new products and increase distribution of high end, primary and secondary brands.
- Sell in current and future price promotions with customers.
- Sell in displays and assist in building and merchandising at retail.
- Ensure all POS is clean, functional, and updated.
- Fulfill pre-established sales objectives and implementation of company marketing programs at the retail level.
- Survey and influence retail accounts to ensure a competitive edge in dominant POS placement, price points, shelf space, and product location.
- Execute special assignments and impact selling objectives as assigned by management.
- Transmit orders generated from daily sales in a timely manner.
- Communicate with the Sales and Service Representatives daily.
- Check emails and review all company technology (i.e., Trello, Slack) and respond to all company correspondence daily.
- Perform samplings on a weekly basis.
Additional Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented.
- Trained and certified to operate powered industrial lift trucks, electric pallet jack, and hand trucks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Draught technical troubleshooting skills.
- Able to attend all required meetings/training.
Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor’s Degree required (SteerCo discretion on degree requirement).
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record required.
- Three years of beverage industry and merchandising experience preferred, but not required.
- Daily travel within a designated market is required.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, load, unload, and move product that weighs up to 60 lbs. frequently and up to 160 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as required.
