Job Description


About the Role:

As a Sales Market Security Manager for Sales market South USA & PR, in the Security function, you are responsible for supporting the Sales & Profit by setting a Security plan to deliver the Best Customer Experience in line with the Area goals and Country Security focuses. Your focuses are the development of teams, reduction of shrink, crisis mitigation and improvement of the Security and Health & Safety levels for each of the stores and offices in the areas you support. Acting as a leader with strong knowledge-based approach, you support the Sales Market, Area, and Country Team to enable the Best Teams from a security perspective. You work with talent and leadership development and structured performance management for your Multi Area Security Managers based on results, values, and leadership. You work in accordance with legal requirements and H&M Global standards, policies, and procedures to meet the expectations of customers and colleagues for all brands.

This hybrid/field role reports into our Head of Security and Compliance, Region Americas and is based out of our Los Angeles Support Office.

A Day in the Life:

Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities*

People and Teams

  • Acting as a leader with strong knowledge-based approach, you support the Area, Sales Market and Country Team to enable the Best Teams from a security, risk and health & safety perspective
  • You work with talent and leadership development and structured performance management for your Multi Area Security Managers based on results, values, and leadership
  • You collaborate cross functionally with all functions involved in the security scope of work
  • Actively coach and develop each of your Multi Area Security Managers.
  • Communicate clearly and in an inspiring way about business performance, clear actions and goals based on analysis.
  • Partnership with NA Loss Prevention Manager, NA Compliance Manager and H&S responsible & Sales Market Team to secure and promote a health & safety culture in stores.
  • Team up with Sales Market Human Resources Manager and Multi Area Security Managers to monitor the completion of all security related trainings in GROW (learning management system)
  • Coordination with Sales Market Team and partnership with Americas Security and Compliance Manager to ensure appropriate recruitment and trainings to secure succession planning and development of security talents.
  • Promote positive feedback culture.
  • Educate Sales Market Team and Multi Area Security Managers on all security aspects.
  • Coordinate and manage in partnership with the Sales Market Sales Manager local crisis situations when they arise, is liaison to country crisis team.

Planning

  • You have a clear and aligned definition of the Security Scope of work based on the Green Standards audit model that you measure with KPI’s in line with the Country goals
  • You have clear aligned requirements in partnership with the Country Project Manager
  • You have budgets based on requirements, risks & long-term plans
  • Ensure Security operations per the Country Strategy and the agreed Service Scope for all brands.
  • Liaise through Cross Functional partnership to safeguard that security is considered in initiatives and developments.
  • Set Area Requirements for Security Services to maximize selling & to minimize long term cost together with Cross Functional partners based on the Global Requirements, Country Requirements & local legislation.
  • Support with planning, training & implementation of special projects (Security Training, Store openings, Inventory, IT, etc.)
  • Ensure that specific business needs are considered in the requirements while striving to keep alignment between areas and different brands.
  • Oversee plans containing activities to meet Green Standard requirements for the H&M group properties, balancing scheduled & reactive work.
  • Support and influence the development of the Sales Market Security budget together with the Americas Security Controller and security coordinator based on agreed requirements and planned activities.
  • You secure the highest quality and lowest possible long-term cost by optimizing the split between scheduled & reactive activities.

Profit

  • You work actively with cost follow up including forecast & investment costs
  • You minimize risk to the company by achieving & executing all Green Standards
  • You identify well performing areas, capture best practices & share experience from existing areas within the Security Organization and with our Cross Functional partners
  • You work actively with the Loss Prevention Strategy and shrink action plans in every business unit to minimize shrink
  • Monitor, follow-up and ensure cost performance with the support of the security coordinator and Americas Controller on H&M Group properties in all your Areas based on actual vs budget including forecasting.
  • Monitor, follow-up and ensure quality performance on H&M Group properties within all your Areas based on predefined quality measures.
  • Ensure H&M Group Property Green Standard Audit planning, execution, and follow up.
  • Together with the Multi Area Security Managers, develop and execute improvement plans per cost and quality follow up.
  • Collect & implement best practices & learnings from the H&M Group properties, communicate within the function and to the relevant cross functional partners.
  • Working knowledge & implementation of all security systems.
  • Up to date knowledge of local legislation including changes that affect security guidelines & policies.
  • Drive for improvements and innovation together with External Service Providers during our Quarterly Vendor Reviews.
  • Support & secure the procurement process per H&M Global guidelines & contractual compliance for security related services in the Areas.
  • Recognize and identify risks to the Organization, H&M Group properties, employees & customers to protect the brand image.

Additional Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for coaching the development of the annual budget for the Areas & managing Sales Market security expenses and capital operating budget for all H&M Group properties in the Sales Market in conjunction with Americas Security Controller and Regional Security Manager.
  • Overview of approximately up to 350 H&M Group properties (stores, offices, split-points, DC).
  • Required domestic travel up to 65% of the time to complete store follow up visits

Qualifications


Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of work experience
  • Minimum of 7 years corporate or Sales Market retail loss prevention management experience. Specialty store experience a plus.
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ management experience
  • Strong professional maturity and the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Valid driver’s license

Compensation: salary range is $112,811 - $126,912 annually**
