The Sales Manager role will be supporting the Med Tech and Specialty Audio business segment. The Sales Manager will be responsible for managing sales activities and providing strategic and tactical direction for technical support activities for key customers within a defined US geographical territory. This territory will comprise both strategic accounts and new business/development prospects. This role will be the primary interface between customers and the Company, coordinating all internal efforts, maximizing revenue and achieving business unit objectives, by creating higher customer value.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Designing and developing sales strategies at account level, accomplishing business unit objectives, policies and defined sales and profit goals.
- Provide direction to Technical Support Team on project priorities
- Work with channel partners to coordinate sales and design efforts into all appropriate accounts in the territory.
- Keeping up to date with new customers and industries in the territory in order to identify new opportunities for Knowles.
- Conduct sales visits to all regional accounts developing sales, product and pricing strategies.
- Interfaces with R&D, product managers, marketing, supply chain and manufacturing to design, deliver and service customers’ needs.
- Prepare annual sales forecasts and participates in the determination of market potential and preparation of sales expense estimates.
- Recommend new product and product line revisions, pricing strategy, marketing communications.
- Perform industry and market analysis anticipating customer needs and recommending product solutions. Responsible for the continuous evaluation of marketing strategy and sales plans to anticipate changing market conditions.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Undergraduate degree. Technical Degree a Plus. MBA a plus.
- A minimum of 10 years comprehensive sales management and/or marketing experience selling audio and/or electronic components preferred.
- Excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills required
- An in depth knowledge of the complex electronic component sales process
- The ability to understand system-level hardware and software needs at the customer base
