Position Overview
The Sales Engineer supports sales productivity and deal flow by playing a key role in the technical close of complex energy storage solutions. This position is responsible for supporting all phases of LGES Vertech’s sales process and acts as a liaison between Sales, Applications Engineering, and Production. The Sales Engineer must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle and work collaboratively with LGES Vertech’s Systems and Project Engineering teams. This is a multicultural team capitalizing on the strengths and opportunities present when different work cultures and experiences come together. Primary Responsibilities
- Support sales team in defining opportunity fit & potential, as well as the tendering and bidding processes
- Lead the pre-quote assessment of commercial and technical fit by proactively scoping the technical and commercial solutions required to address customer requirements, assess customers’ met and unmet needs, and recommend solutions that optimize value for both the customer and LG ES Vertech
- Coordinate with other engineering functions to secure input from all necessary stakeholders within the customer’s company and other industry sources that have technical impact including Independent System Operators.
- Adapt solutions, as necessary, to ensure appropriate support for LG ES Vertech and the customer’s end goals
- In coordination with the customer’s technical representatives and responsible agencies, secure the technical information required to ensure not only the “technical close”, but also future solution deliverability, e.g. interconnection requirements
- Write a technical proposal in response to the RFP
- Actively support presentations to customers and ensure clear answers to requests for clarification and respond tactfully when solutions and ideas are challenged
- Actively participate in contract reviews with cross functional teams
