Showroom Sales Consultant
Job Summary:
Serves residential and trade customers as a liaison between plumber and homeowner while meeting or exceeding company sales and profit goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meet or exceed the expectations of our customers by providing a positive customer experience.
- Assist walk-in showroom customers with solutions for plumbing needs and project design.
- Answer phone calls coming into the showroom by providing support and solutions for service requests.
- Accurately tracks all quotes, closing ongoing quotes and additional sales projects.
- Manages all bids, open orders and shipping to ensure optimum efficiency and while providing proactive and on time deliveries.
- Ensure updates are made to showroom products, changing product and design trends, through focus on constant training and industry education.
- Resolve customer concerns and inquiries with solutions and a focus on exceeding expectations.
- Establish new business beyond current accounts through outreach to builders, designers, architects, and other potential customers.
- Meet or exceed sales and profit margin goals, with a focus on long term growth through relationship development, client retention and superior service.
- Maintain standard operating procedure within the showroom, ensuring displays, literature are up to date and the showroom is presentation ready at all times.
- Participate in activities and meetings that potentially will increase sales, including promotions, special events, networking groups and experience trips.
- Participate in marketing activities to include advertising, market expansion, relationship development, philanthropy, team building and showroom events.
- Partner with service plumbing team on education to ensure showroom products are being utilized when possible.
- Represent Swick and the Superior Showroom as a brand ambassador with our business partners and related professional organizations.
- Meet standards for showroom best practices and client service expectations.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Work safely.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of plumbing products and their applications. Experience with decorative plumbing brands is preferred.
- Effective interpersonal, customer service, selling, communication, organization, administrative, negotiation, teamwork, and stress management skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to demonstrate engagement and excitement about products and assisting clients to understand and exceed their needs.
- Maintain professional image as a representative of the company in accordance with the dress code policy.
- Availability for occasional day, evening, weekend, and overnight travel.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as margins, discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines and easily adapt to changing situations.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; or
- Six months to a year of related experience and training; or
- Equivalent combination of experience and education.
Pay:
- $15.50 per hour
- 7% commission on GP
- $100 monthly bonus if sales plan is reached.
