SUMMARY: Responsible for providing superior customer service by interacting with customers in an accurate, fast, efficient and courteous manner. Stock new/incoming freight as well as keep shelves stocked from our backstock.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Thinks and behaves in alignment with the Company’s vision, mission, goals, objectives and core values.
Helps ensure sales goals are obtained by welcoming customers and ensuring they have what they are looking for, while promoting better alternatives (up-selling), sale items and other relevant products to assist them with their projects.
Positively greets customers as they enter Sporting goods area
Put away all incoming freight and stock/backstock items as they come in
Keep department stocked and clean/organized
Continually educates themselves about products and retains specific knowledge about advertised items.
Is aware of potential security, safety and/or shoplifting issues and reports any incidents and/or concerns immediately to management.
Able to report to work as scheduled. Demonstrates regular and reliable attendance. Attends and participates in training sessions and monthly store meetings as required.
Safety and security
Work in a safe manner to protect yourself, your co-workers and others who may be affected by your actions.
Work together on exercising prevention methods to minimize injury or loss. Suggest solutions to mitigate hazards.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Accurately prices and displays (i.e. bins, shelves, displays, etc.) merchandise.
Assists store management in the annual preparation and taking of the store’s physical inventory.
Performs general housekeeping duties (i.e. up keeps a professional appearance of the store’s floors, fixtures, warehouse, deli, etc.)
Performs all related duties of a Cashier.
Promptly and accurately performs any other related duties as assigned by store management.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
Requires attention to detail, concentration and alertness.
Ability to work under pressure, demonstrate effective decision-making, and ability to exercise sound judgment.
Ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time.
Organizes work to complete assignments, maintains accuracy, pays attention to detail, and demonstrates customer service standards.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to stand and/or sit for durations up to 8 hours at a time.
Frequent reaching, twisting, turning, stooping, squatting, crouching, climbing of ladder, grasping and squeezing.
Ability to lift/carry minimum 40lbs
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
· At least 21 years of age with a clean criminal abstract to handle firearms (not required but preferred)
· Knowledge in fishing, hunting, archery, and/or diving
· Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees, management, customers and vendors using both verbal and written skills. Able to understand and follow instructions to complete assignments.
