Sales Associate / Print Specialist - The Ups Store

This position is for a Sales Associate, with Adobe and print skills, at The UPS Store in Historic Uptown St. Petersburg. You will join our dedicated staff at our location in downtown St. Petersburg where our team strives to offer world-class customer service and prides itself on being the highest rated shipping and packing store in our area.

The UPS Store centers are retail service businesses which offer mail and parcel receiving, packaging, and shipping services through various carriers, and provide a wide range of other authorized products and services, including professional printing, notary, copying, office supplies, and communications (such as fax) services. The UPS Store centers target the needs of businesses of all sizes, small office/home office workers, and busy consumers who are looking for timesaving services.

The UPS Store senior Sales Associate and Print Specialist delivers best-in-class customer service that meets and exceeds their expectations with primary responsibilities include those listed below. The position reports to the owner/manager.

NOTE: The UPS Store centers are locally owned and operated retail shops. This IS NOT a job with UPS. This position is not soliciting for a drivers or warehouse attendants.

Responsibilities:

• Primary duties are to drive retail sales of The UPS Store.
• Secondary duties include the ability to execute print projects, with solid experience in software design programs including the Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator) for both Mac and PC.
• Assist customers with shipping, printing, mailbox, fax, and other product offerings of The UPS Store.
• Package shipments for safe arrival, including assembling stock boxes, building custom boxes, and properly cushioning contents.
• Create stunning visuals for print, traditional media, large scale print collateral such as business cards, postcards, brochures, posters, signs, flyers, banners, etc.
• Operate and maintain 4-color press and finishing equipment.
• Deliver outstanding retail sales and customer service to in-store customers.
• Offer solutions to best fit customers’ needs. Up-sell and cross-sell services and products.
• Operate copiers, fax machines, binding equipment and all other office machines in a safe, efficient and productive manner. Help customers operate office machines located in the retail area.
• Continuously practice good listening skills with customers, The UPS Store team members, and leadership.
• Take action to learn all product and service offerings, alternative solutions, and industry trends.
• Open and/or close the store and perform start-of-day/end-of-day procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Complete required web-based training on a biweekly basis. `
• Ensure supplies are fully stocked.
• Comply with company rules and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Prior The UPS Store sales and print experience desired and preferred.
• Prior retail sales & customer service experience: 2 years required.
• Prior experience in graphic design and print industry: 2 years required.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite.
• The position requires a dedicated staff who is willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
• Ability to work up to 40 hours per week including nights and weekends.
• Able to lift 40+ pounds.
• High school diploma or GED required. Associate/degree in Graphic Arts is desired.
• Ability to learn quickly.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Great verbal and written communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 38 per week
