Job Summary:
As a Sales and Reservation Coordinator at InterContinental The Clement Monterey, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and sales support to our guests, potential guests, Hotel Sales team and Director of Revenue. This role involves managing reservations and sales inquiries, as well as coordinating with other departments to ensure a seamless experience for our guests. This is a full-time, hourly position in the fast-paced and dynamic hospitality/restaurant industry. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and have excellent communication skills. This is an individual contributor role, so the ability to work independently is crucial.
Compensation & Benefits:
The compensation for this position is $25 to $29 per hour, paid biweekly. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, employee discounts, 401 (k) and opportunities for advancement.
Responsibilities: (Not inclusive of all responsibilitities for the role.)
• Review and process reservations according to established procedures and policies, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Answer phone reservations and inquiries promptly and courteously, providing information on room availability, rates, and hotel amenities.
• Respond to email and online reservation requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and travel agents to encourage repeat business.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure that guest needs and requests are met and exceeded.
• Process group reservations and track room block inventory.
• Manage room inventory and rates in the reservation system, adhering to revenue management guidelines.
• Prepare daily occupancy and revenue reports for management.
• Assist with sales initiatives, such as prospecting and soliciting new business.
• Handle guest concerns and complaints with empathy and professionalism.
• Maintain accurate and updated records of guest interactions and Reservations.
• Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in hospitality or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in reservations or sales in a hotel or hospitality setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service skills and a passion for providing excellent guest experiences.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Reservation systems.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of Monterey area attractions and hotels is a plus.
