The primary goal of the Marketing Manager position is to work alongside the management team with a shared focused attention on continuous collaboration with key disciplines to drive top-line revenues through execution of a strategic marketing and positioning plan. This includes, but is not limited to, the social media lead role, management of an annual marketing plan, the execution of seasonal campaigns, positioning, and offers presented through various sales channels to support the development of strategic partnerships for the area.
It is the responsibility of the Marketing Manager to work within the guidelines outlined by ownership, to possess knowledge of regional trends, proactively respond to the PR/Marketing needs of the restaurants and work in tandem with the owner to support top-line revenues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Marketing:
- Coordinate events and press
- Responsible for the execution of annual marketing/positioning/PR strategy plan based on company goals, structure, market knowledge and revenue needs
- Work in tandem with the gm’s on execution of strategies to support an aligned Sales and Marketing efforts.
- Ensure the balance and integration of restaurant marketing needs with that of the region are met
- Attend and/or conduct local marketing meetings when needed.
- Work in tandem managers to secure new strategic partners and follow through with execution of strategic marketing-oriented action plans with said partners
- Collaborate with key disciplines to ensure execution of action items is timely and on point (i.e., sales, revenue, distribution, digital marketing and PR).
- With the GM’s, provide support of key accounts through;
- Continued meetings to discuss strategy and market share goals/achievement
- Discussion of ways to market to key accounts, agencies of record and end-users to gain share
- Create and support client events
- Manage integrated campaigns inclusive of Marketing, PR, Revenue, Social marketing, online digital marketing and Distribution including but not limited to partnerships, group promotions, leisure promotions, social catering events and Restaurant as needed
- Manage and liaise with creative/ advertising and PR agencies to create collateral pieces and build press-worthy stories and events
- Build media and Marketing plans and manage ROIs thru analytics
Communication:
- Communication with owners, GM, as needed
- Complete monthly + quarterly recap document of actions and results for the individual hotels pertaining to marketing and social media actions
- Participate in weekly & monthly calls to outline current focus, next 90 days and wins from a marketing, PR and positioning perspective
- Share social media industry trends, strategies and news within hotel teams and adjust strategy as needed
Social Media Coordination:
- Manage the day-to-day social media platform and have oversight of PR agency social media team that executes the social media plan
- Review the creative and relevant social media campaigns from the Agency on all forms of social media channels including but not limited to; Facebook, Instagram, and others in an ongoing effort to boost traffic, increase revenue and attain overall social goals (where applies)
- Review and manage all social channel analytics. Present in monthly recap for owners meetings or month report
- Review and manage social media content calendars and posts on a regular basis as provided by the agency standards
Administrative:
- Maintain ongoing PR and Marketing calendar of events
- Maintain image library on share drive
- Develop PowerPoint and assorted presentations as required
- Complete all correspondence pertaining to Marketing/PR department
- Create and maintain 90-day PR action plans as received by Agency
- Complete all monthly, quarterly, and annual recaps
Financial Performance:
- Manage allocated marketing budget for the restaurant where appropriate.
- Marketing department will manage and control the non-direct sales expenses (defined as but not limited to: contract services, special events, promotion, brochures, collateral, eCommerce, consumer media, trade media, photography, agency fees)
- DOSM will manage all direct sales expenses not outlined above
- Keep abreast of property performance relative to budget, forecast and pace
- Work in conjunction with DOSM, Operations, Revenue, Distribution and Online Marketing Managers to ensure that sales, marketing, PR and pricing strategies are aligned for success and maximum financial performance and return.
- Work in conjunction with the DOSM and GMs, to assist and support hotel through the annual operating budget and Marketing plan.
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE WE'RE SEEKING:

- - 5 years of prior experience in marketing and/or PR required.
- Bachelor's degree or combination of relevant work experience and education preferred.
- Strong project management skills; the ability to lead projects and drive execution to the achievement of the right results

Education and/or Experience: 2 - 5 years of prior experience in marketing and/or public relations. Bachelor's degree or combination of relevant work experience and education preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with other business departments, guests, and vendors. Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, report, or schedule form. Regularly exercise independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance.
