Role Overview:
The Safety Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing workplace safety, aiming to reduce accidents, injuries, and health issues among employees.
Leads safety training sessions, conducts inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety standards.
Updates and improves safety training materials.
Develops, implements, and oversees health and safety plans following legal standards.
Establishes safety policies to foster a workplace culture focused on health and safety.
Assesses risks in procedures, practices, and facilities.
Ensures policy compliance through regular employee and operation inspections.
Examines equipment and machinery for safety hazards.
Partners with management to create an Emergency Action Plan, acting as the go-to for incident reporting and management.
Keeps detailed records of safety inspections, reports, and communications.
Investigates incidents to identify causes and manage workers' compensation claims.
Proposes preventative and corrective measures for safety issues.
Provides reports on safety metrics and awareness.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety or a similar field.
At least 5 years of relevant experience.
In-depth understanding of OSHA standards and safety policies.
Must have OSHA 30 Certification.
Strong communication and training skills.
Organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in Microsoft Office.
Willingness to travel for inspections.
Physical Requirements:
Capability to work on a computer for prolonged periods.
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
