OBJECTIVE
The Safety Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing safety programs, policies, and procedures at CWS facility. This person must be thoroughly familiar with industrial safety regulations promulgated by federal and state level OSHA. The Safety Specialist will lead the site safety training and development team with identifying training needs, developing and conducting training sessions, and measuring training effectiveness. This person will also lead the specific site’s safety steering committee and Emergency Response Teams.
In addition, this person will coordinate and lead the safety audit and inspection processes a teach site and participate in safety audits at other corporate facilities. And finally, the Safety Specialist will assist the Corporate Environmental, Safety, and Facilities Manager, Operations Director, and Site Plant Manager with efforts to incorporate Safety with
Quality, Productivity, and other business objectives.

- Develops processes and procedures for continuous compliance with all safety regulations and internal safety policies on adaily basis.
- Advises Plant Manager, Senior Plant Engineer, Engineers, Production Managers, Human Resource Manager, and Department Managers at the specific location on safety initiatives and programs
- Directs personnel to develop recordkeeping processes that insure continuous compliance with all applicable OSHA regulations
- Gathers, analyzes, and summarizes injury and incident data. Reviews Incident Investigation Reports generated at the specific site. Responsible for driving improvements in the Incident Investigation processes.
- Negotiates terms and agreements with state and/or federal OSHA regulators if necessary.
- Reads, interprets, and communicates safety regulations to affected stakeholders at the site Operations Managers, Plant Managers, and Senior Plant Engineers.
- Provides training to operators, Department Managers, and Engineers on how to effectively comply with all applicable safety regulations.
- Assists the staff in preparing annual budgets, strategic 3-year planning, and safety reports.
- Provides leadership to the site’s safety committees and teams include the Steering Committee, Emergency Response Teams, Audit Teams, and Others
- Responsible for leading the site’s machine inspection processes for both new and existing equipment

- Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Must be proficient in English.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
EDUCATION
- Four year college or university program certificate; and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Responsibilities include helping to interview, hire, and train employees. Also this person will help plan, assign, and direct work. The person will also be involved with helping to reward and discipline employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

LOCATION
This position is based in Medley, Florida but travel is required to multiple sites. Relocation assistance is available.
Pay: $71,000.00 - $99,000.00 per year
