- Ensure all facilities within assigned region are in compliance with applicable OSHA safety standards.
- Implement applicable safety policies and procedures.
- Perform regular safety audits and inspections.
- Provide support and expertise to facilities by being available for questions, investigations, training, and meetings.
- Actively participate on Safety Committees, JSO teams, audits and behavior observations.
- Identify safety training needs, coordinate and administer safety training programs to all employees within assigned region. Assist in delivering the driver training program. Ensure that training is documented and that training documentation is complete.
- Identify appropriate personal protective equipment and ensure it is used in all facilities.
- Promote safety and health awareness through training, written and verbal communication pieces, and newsletters.
- Advise management of regulatory changes and updates affecting their operations. Provide support and expertise to facilities by being available for questions, investigations, training, and meetings.
- Monitor and track all accidents in assigned region. Ensure proper reporting and investigation of all accidents/incidents, including root cause analysis.
- Coordinate return-to-work program for work-related injuries, with emphasis on limiting lost time and worker’s compensation expenses. Recommend actions to reduce accidents and injuries.
- Assist in maintaining drug-free workplace through adherence to post-accident drug screening and random drug screening programs.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Must possess thorough understanding of all OSHA regulations.
- Two years experience in a supervisory or management position, preferred
- Strong computer skills; ability to use Windows based applications such as Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous experience facilitating training and/or presentations preferred.
- Must be willing and able to travel as needed
