Job Summary
The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating the company's safety records and standards pertaining to safety audits, forklift training, OSHA reporting, branch project documentation, DOT compliance and reporting, and worker's compensation programs. The Safety Coordinator will record and administer documentation in support of strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist in the implementation of new standards of practice and procedures for safety related activities through documentation, communication, and organization.
  • Maintain records of safety training programs for compliance with OSHA regulations and other federal, state, or local requirements.
  • Maintain and organize all safety records, including incident reports, training documentation, and safety meeting attendance.
  • Document monthly safety meeting attendance and topics to support the Safety Program to engage associates in promoting a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate the documentation of company's DOT program (includes DOT files, Drivers Alerts, DOT Handbook, and Drug Testing).
  • Collaborate and support the Safety Team analysts on various safety projects and company-wide initiatives through consistent documentation and shared record keeping.
  • Administrate and maintain registrations in third party safety programs like ISNetworld and Avetta.
  • Report and track general liability and other claims (worker comp, auto, etc.) at the direction of management.
  • Stay informed about changes regarding safety regulations and industry best practices and communicate relevant updates to the Safety Team.
  • Respond promptly to all safety concerns or violations and escalate to appropriate management levels.
  • Collaborate with Safety Team and Sonepar Safety Team during inspections and audits, ensuring compliance.
  • Perform all assigned duties in a professional, ethical, and efficient manner in accordance with Irby Utilities policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience working with online tools such as SharePoint, Teams, and Webex.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in conjunction with large sized projects.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Desire to drive continuous improvement.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite - including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational, reasoning, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) and/or two to five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
