About Team & About Role
The Rubrik design team is made up of product designers, Visual Designers, researchers, and UX writers from all walks of the industry and life. As our company and our products grow rapidly, it is crucial to scale the user experience of our product and our design team in the right way and with the right people. Every hire counts!
Our VP of Design, Oded Klimer, is seeking a core hire for Rubrik's Visual Design team. We are looking for a highly-skilled Visual Design Intern who can help us drive towards making Rubrik a benchmark for enterprise design.

What You'll Do:
We're looking for curious interns, who want to be entrusted with real responsibility, and who embrace the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
- Champion 'Aura', our industry-leading design system, by sharing and educating other Rubrik designers, PMs, and engineers, about how to use and adopt it through the development of a beautiful, intuitive, and easy-to-use design system website.
- Learn how a complex component library works, and help to build scalable and smart components that will enable product designers to understand and leverage our system to create world-class consumer-quality enterprise design.
- Create moments of delight for Rubrik users by envisioning and helping to create playful and meaningful illustrations, animations, and iconography.
- Showcase the Visual Design team's work to the rest of the design organization through regular demos, boosting your communication and presentation skills along the way.
- Give and solicit feedback from other designers to continually raise our bar for visual quality.
- Contribute to a creative, supportive culture for the entire Product Design team.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience You'll Need:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in HCI, Design, or a related field
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a design-related field (must be graduating in December 2024 or Spring 2025)
- An online portfolio, showcasing your work with a foundation in interaction and Visual Design, and idea generation.
- A strong grounding in Visual Design aesthetics and an understanding of Visual Design principles.
- Experience with design and prototyping tools like Figma, or Sketch.
- Iconography, illustration, or animation skills
- Team Player: Be willing to roll up your sleeves and work cross-functionally.
- You are proactive and not afraid to drive towards finding a better solution.
- Curious, open-minded, and ego-free, with a growth mindset who thrives on continuous learning
- Someone who listens to others and values understanding above being right.
- Someone who enjoys solving complex design problems!!
