SalaryWe are looking for a hard working individual to work at our knife sharpening business. We will train in all aspects of the business and do not expect any prior experience. Our business sharpens knives to area restaurants and we are looking for someone who can both work with other team members to sharpen the knives in our shop in Walpole and also to make deliveries of the finished product to area restaurants.
Our shop typically has 6 team members at one time and all are willing to share their expertise to teach the trade. A typical person will be able to operate a machine within the first week of training. There is no heavy lifting for this position and we do not require any computer skills to operate the machines.
The job will be split between sharpening knives, packing and sorting boxes and making the deliveries. New team members will first learn how to operate the machines and sharpen knives. We will then teach you a route that delivers the knives to our local restaurants. We do not require additional sales beyond our existing customers, but there is an opportunity to make a commission on any additional sales that helps grow our business. We are looking for a responsible person to represent our company in a professional and cost-effective manner.
We are a mom and pop knife sharpening company located in Walpole, MA and are looking for an early riser and someone who has an exellent track record of showing up for the scheduled shift.
Training will be provided for both the delivery and Shop work. The ideal candidate will preform both shop and deliveries, but we are willing to isolate the work to a specific task such as only the sharpening portion of the job for the right candidate.

-Job starts and finishes each day at our Walpole office.
-Days are around 8-10 hours long for deliveries and 5-8 hours for Shop work.
Responsibilities
- Deliver knives to different addresses and through different routes
- 6am Start time
- Follow routes and time schedule
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate a delivery vehicle
- Ask for feedback on provided services and resolve clients’ complaints
- Collect payments
- Complete end of day report with any notes that we need to address before the following visit.
- Follow safety standards
- Communicate with management
Position Requirements for Shop work:
- Must be able to stand in one location for 3+ hours at a time.
- Ability to learn to operate 3 separate knife grinding machines.
- Basic operation and maintenance of assigned machinery.
- Perform proper machine start up.
- Perform basic break downs and wash down.
- Follow safety rules.
- Consistently show up on time.
Skills
- Proven working experience as a Delivery Driver
- Valid professional driver’s license
- Ability to consistently show up on time
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Good driving record
- Bi-lingual a plus
