What will you do in this role?
The Oakwood Rotational Program is designed to be a rigorous introduction to Oakwood Homes and provide the tools & resources needed to learn the home building business successfully. The program consists of rotations in various departments, over eighteen months, within Oakwood that will be determined based on company needs and the Team Member’s interests. This role is key to building our business’s future and is critical in supporting the market by performing various functions. Following the completion of the Oakwood Rotational Program, Team Members, per their interest and Oakwood’s needs, will fill entry-level roles within the company.
The rotation schedule is determined by combining and creating a unique program based on individual preferences and business needs. Each rotation may vary depending on projects, needs, and the Team Member's ability to master assigned skill sets. On average, there are four rotations, each three months in length.
Below are listed the primary responsibilities of each department:
Production/Construction Rotation:
Perform the roles and responsibilities of a back-end builder, meaning you will be responsible for managing the construction process from drywall through the completion of the home.
Perform all roles and responsibilities of a production coordinator, including coordination with the construction team and the permitting, slotting, and scheduling of homes.
Sales Rotation:
Perform all the roles and responsibilities of a new home counselor, including maintenance of model homes, completion of sales contracts, and generating and following up on leads of potential homebuyers.
Purchasing Rotation:
Perform all roles and responsibilities of a purchasing coordinator, including generating job POs and cost reconciliation reports, enhancing trade partner relationships, and analyzing cost and retail data.
Marketing:
Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
Advanced skills in MS Office
Must be creative and enjoy working in an environment that is mission-and-results driven, and community-oriented
Must exercise good judgment, be coachable, and have a passion for learning
Must be detail oriented and be able to multi-task
Must be effective at prioritizing and adaptive to a fast-paced changing environment
Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability
Highly resourceful team-player
Demonstrated ability to achieve high-performance goals and meet deadlines
Forward-looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions
You Might Also Have:
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business, Real Estate, or a related field
Experience in leadership/management roles
Experience working independently while carrying out assignments based on instructions given
Experience in the home-building industry

Expected Salary: $50,000 - $55,000 Annual Salary.
