We're hiring a Rooms Administrator to Live. Work. Explore. in Death Valley National Park!

 

Job Summary:

The Rooms Administrator will oversee reservation accuracy, inventory control, reservation interface accuracy, group room assignments, 3rd party reservations, and respond to guest comments and inquiries for both the Inn and Ranch hotels. Works closely with Director of Rooms, Rooms Manager, Asst. Rooms manager, and Sales Manager.

 

 

The Details:Position Type: SeasonalStart Dates: January 2024Pay: $17.30Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities

Respond to guest comments on all reservation channels and social media channels. Respond to guest inquiries on all reservation channels. Ensure group blocks and pre-assigning all group room assignments are according to the BEO. Verify Booking.com and Expedia reservations against hotel reservations. Ensure reservation interface errors are resolved. Perform rooms synchronization between the property and central reservations. Perform rooms inventory control and balancing. Place and track guestrooms that are Out of Order. Work with other departments to ensure that Our of Order rooms are quickly resolved. Ensure individual and group billing and routing is correct. Work as a Guest Service Agent as needed.

Qualifications

Possess sufficient experience and technical expertise in all functions of the front office acquired through at least 2 years hotel experience, preferably in guest service setting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to professionally interact with guests, clients, and employees. Ability to address guest concerns with professionalism and tact. Previous experience with front desk operating systems, telecommunication systems. Advanced computer skills to quickly learn POS systems and other front office systems. Possess valid Driver's License and comply with the Oasis at Death Valley Company Vehicle Policy. Knowledge of and implementation of AAA 3 and 4 Diamond standards. Working knowledge of Front Office operations.

Working knowledge of OTA websites including Expedia and Booking.com. Possess sufficient experience and technical expertise in all functions of the front desk, including experience with front office software (Knowledge of Opera desired). Must be able to communicate with other departments. Must have exceptional organizational and time management skills. Must have experience in reservations, group booking and management reporting system.

 

Physical Requirements include:

 

Constantly listening, hearing, seeing, standing, walking, using eye/hand coordination, handling, wrist motion. Frequently walk and lift or carry up to 50 lbs. Occasionally sit, handle, reach outward, reach above shoulder, squat or kneel, lift/carry and push or pull up to 100lbs. Will be required to stand long periods of time and to occasionally walk up flights of stairs.
