# beds/trauma bays 44 Beds (3 Trauma bays
Fast track do direct bedding, having 1 triage room/nurse whent they go to triage mode. A - low acuity, B - higher acuity 1-2, Vertical 3 55 & below w/ belly pain gets work-up, lower acuity in POD C, A B SOB, psych ,alterme CP
# Psych/seclusion rooms 4 behav, 6 intake rooms, & 3 (-) airflow rooms
Security metal detector out front monitored, beh rooms all video monitored, a guard who rounds
# patients per day Varies - average about 135 (176, 150)
Ratios 1 to 4 in A&B C based on acuity could have 1 to 5
Required Certifications "BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, ENPC (Pals or ENPC)
TNCC is required. Level III, cp & CVA center w/ certififed cath lab - urgancy to main door to EKG in 10 min, Door to Troponins, as well as knowledge in community hospitals..."
Common diagnoses/Types of patients Belly pain, CP, altered MS, high amount behavioral patients due too onsite unit,
Experience or 'Must have' skills Travelers do not usually do triage, but must understand Client
ED Physicians/Mid-Levels low acuity ran by Client & 1 PA in main who helps providers during the day. low acuity area 11a-11p.
Charge Nurse/House Supervisor 24/7 charge takes in emergcny or take 1:1
Nurse Aids/Paramedics/Patient sitters PCT's & unit secretaries, house has sitters, but if they need a sitter she pulls one of her PCTs (PCT can draw staight sticks, insert & DC foleys)
EMR Epic
RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) In-house come (ER does EKGs) RT does ABGS, VEnts, Tx
Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? No RN/s
Phlebotomy or nurse draw have phelbo 9a-2a, but w/ volume the RN's can
Shifts & Scheduling 7a-7p, 9a-9p, 11a-11p, 2p-2a, 7p-7a (going to self-scheduling in July - will work with them on schedule - flexible
Weekend Requirement EOW FSS SS
Holiday Requirement only if no perm
Is there a call or standby requirement? Perm staff has a call schedu e not travelers
Floating Requirements No floating out of the ER.
Scrub Color/Dress Code Black - Scrub jackets are not required; however, if they wear a jacket it must be an actual scrub jacket. No hoodies or sweat-jackets.
Unit/Department specific orientation 2-3 shifts
Additional Notes "CT & diagnostic room & stat lab in ER, will flex c pod as hold area depending on needs, keep own boarded patients.
