Job Summary:
The goal of this position is to help facilitate patient clinical triage. The Clinical Access Center Representative will serve as a liaison between ULP physician practices and the Access Center
Responsibilities- Provide clinical support to the Access Center call agents
- Respond promptly to incoming and transferred calls
- Must be capable of making independent nursing decisions
- Assess patient's health care needs over the phone, utilizing clinical judgement, careful listening, and critical thinking skills
- Determine the appropriate level of care required to safely meet the patient's medical needs
- Utilize all resources and guidelines at his/her disposal to effectively assess, prioritize, advise, schedule appointments, or refer calls as indicated
- Accurately documents symptoms/complaints, nursing assessment, and plan in the electronic medical record
- Perform care coordination between the patient and UofL Physician practices when indicated
- Demonstrate excellent active listening skills and the ability to interpret the patient's needs
- Appropriately utilizes standing orders, triage protocols, and algorithms as indicated
- Possess the ability to escalate issues to leaders while maintaining professionalism
- Serves as a resource to all non-Clinical Access Center staff
Education:
- Associate Degree (required)
- Bachelor Degree (preferred)
Experience:
- 2 years clinical experience (required)
Licensure:
- RN (required)
Certification:
- BLS (AHA)
