Position Summary:
- Knowledge of principles, methods and procedures of Cardiovascular care.
- Knowledge of state and local laws and regulations governing Cardiology services/systems.
- Collaborates with clinical team to maintain the cardiovascular program.
- Reviews/abstracts records for Cardiovascular Registries.
- Participates in the development of policies and procedures, creates processes for evaluating system performance and patient outcomes.
- Provides oversight of data abstraction (may use third party)
- Ensures data accuracy.
- Disseminates data to stakeholders.
- Utilizes data for evaluation of clinical processes.
- Coordinates and oversees the ongoing CQI process to improve care of the cardiac patient population.
- Assists in the planning, development and implementation of program goals and operations.
- Oversees the tracking process for data related to throughput of the cardiac patients and provides data to the Chest Pain Committee to initiates changes as appropriate and to improve outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree is required. Graduate of a School of Nursing program. Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree is preferred.
- Current license as an RN in New Mexico or compact license required.
- 5+ years RN experience in an acute care setting..
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- ACLS is required for all areas where moderate sedation is performed.
- New Hires/Transfers: Requires that certifications must be obtained within 1 year of employment.
- If currently certified, must maintain current certification. Certification or completion courses must meet the standards of Memorial Medical Center.
