Position Summary:
The RN Abstractor - Cardiovascular will play a pivotal role in maintaining and improving the cardiovascular program. This position requires knowledge of cardiovascular care principles, state and local laws, and regulations governing cardiology services/systems. The incumbent will collaborate with the clinical team, review/abstract records for cardiovascular registries, and participate in the development of policies and procedures to enhance system performance and patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the clinical team to maintain the cardiovascular program.
- Review/abstract records for Cardiovascular Registries.
- Participate in the development of policies and procedures.
- Provide oversight of data abstraction (may use third party).
- Ensure data accuracy and disseminate data to stakeholders.
- Utilize data for evaluation of clinical processes.
- Coordinate and oversee the ongoing Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process.
- Assist in planning, development, and implementation of program goals and operations.
- Oversee the tracking process for data related to throughput of cardiac patients and provide data to the Chest Pain Committee.
Must-Haves:
- Associate’s degree is required. Graduate of a School of Nursing program. Bachelor's and Master’s degrees are preferred.
- Current license as an RN in New Mexico or compact license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required.
