This position is responsible for the facility's Risk management activities, which include coordinating the risk management program on a day-to-day basis, & interfacing with defense legal counsel/hospital committees and groups prn. This position is accountable for investigation of sentinel events, RCA's, and generating unusual occurrence reports, managing/analyzing risk management data and conducting any risk management education programs for the facility. Utilizes clinical experience to monitor, review, and evaluate patient care against established criteria and guidelines. Performs/coordinates other Risk Management activities at the direction of the Chief Legal Counsel and/or the Assistant Vice-President of Quality Management. Also assists with the completion of Quality & Safety functions throughout the facility.
Education:
Bachelors in Nursing preferred
Additional Certification Details:
Prefer licensed nurse with extensive experience in clinical nursing and knowledge of continuous quality improvement, risk, & safety. Professional Certification such as Certified Professional in HealthCare Risk Management (CPHRM) or Associate in Risk Management (ARM) is preferred. Additional training in computer applications and/or statistics also a plus.
Additional Experience Requirements:
One to three years' healthcare experience. One to three years' data analysis experience. MIDAS+ user experience strongly preferred, as is knowledge of clinical research design and reporting techniques.
