About ECU Health Medical Center

ECU Health Medical Center, one of four academic medical centers in North Carolina, is the 974-bed flagship hospital for ECU Health and serves as the primary teaching hospital for The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. ECU Health Medical Center has achieved Magnet® designation twice and provides acute and intermediate care, rehabilitation and outpatient health services to a 29-county region that is home to more than 1.4 million people.

Position Summary

Responsible for the facilitys risk management activities, which include a working knowledge of the self-insurance and captive insurance programs, administering the risk management program on a daily basis, analyzing events for risks and liabilities, and providing ongoing assessment of risks to minimize loss to the organization. Utilize skills to complete complex investigations and identify regulatory and other loss exposures.

Minimum Requirements

4 year college degree preferred, however, five years of related experience can substitute for two years of the required education and seven years of related experience can substitute for four years of required education.
3 to 5 years of experience in risk, quality, legal, business, financial or insurance is required.

Other Information

Department: ECU Health Office of General Counsel.

Shift: Exempt Position, Primarily 8am-5pm.

Weekends: No.

On-Call: Yes, on call responsibilities for nights and weekends.
