Job description

This role sits in the newly created Risk Data and Technology transformation team of the Enterprise Risk Management function. The team will lead Risk's Data and Technology transformation across the firm and is responsible to: Establish, maintain, and communicate the Enterprise Risk Data and Tech transformation Management data strategy; Create and deliver technology implementation roadmaps, ensuring that both business and regulatory requirements are met; and Drive implementation and adoption of consistent data management standards and capabilities to support the Enterprise Risk Management Framework adoption across the enterprise and relevant businesses / functions / regions.
The role is a critical member of the Risk Federated Chief Data Office (FCDO), reporting into the FCDO and responsible for navigating the multiple components to ensure that Risk fulfills the CO use-cases within the framework of the ECDO DOM.
The responsibilities will include:
- End-to-end accountability for the Risk use-cases relating to Trading Book products, scope definition, defining risk reduction metrics, delivering data requirements, and designing the processes and controls to validate success criteria.
- Provide guidance on high priority and cross functional use cases for Risk data requirements
- A deep understanding of risk processes and reports, product processing within the financial services industry and data management is essential.
This position requires a thorough understanding of the strategic direction of the Risk function, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in the risk reporting function.
Excellent communication skills are required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level.
The candidate will be responsible for leading a team of specialists across different geographies and delivering high-quality work products.
The role will actively apply a range of problem solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills to lead businesses, functions and regions to achieve success in enhancing data governance. In addition, this role drives engagement and communication between the Risk Federated Chief Data Office (FCDO) and and other key stakeholders (i.e., report and process owners, Technology partners) and will work closely with the Enterprise Chief Data Office (ECDO).
The Risk Trading Book Data Operating Model Lead will report to Risk's Chief Data Officer and will lead a team of approx. 25 people.
Responsibilities

  • End to end accountability for the delivery of all Trading Book product data transformation into Risks processes, models and reports
  • Partner with ERM, DART and Risk accountable management, Finance and ICG/PBWM to deliver the Consent Order Risk use-cases in line with the Citi Data Operating Model (DOM)
  • Accountable for tracking the delivery of the overall integrated Risk Data delivery plan and for ensuring all external dependencies are fulfilled
  • Ensure scope defined by the Risk accountable management for the Risk use-cases is fully aligned with ICG and PBWM execution plans
  • Responsible for ensuring the risk reduction metrics linked to the Risk use-cases, each being executed by the accountable Risk management leader, are consistent across the risk stripes and documented appropriately in the ECDO formats
  • Partner with the accountable Risk management lead to ensure that data quality issue management process for Risk develops a transparent prioritization methodology linked to the risk reduction metrics.
  • Responsible for supporting the Risk data requirements process, run by the accountable Risk management teams, is efficient, effective and aligned with the artefacts required by the Citi data governance policy
  • Act as the steward of consistency in data process and governance across Risk in relation to the Citi Data Operating Model
