Job Description
Purpose of Position:
This role will be responsible for developing and overseeing the insurance policies and strategies for our organization on a global scale. The primary objective will be to mitigate financial risks and ensure compliance with relevant regulations while optimizing insurance coverage across the company's operations. Strong collaboration with internal stakeholders, insurance providers, and legal, HR, and Operations teams is required to drive effective Risk Management through insurance solutions.
Accountabilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive insurance policies and programs that align with the company's risk tolerance, objectives, and compliance requirements across all regions.
- Collaborate with risk assessment teams to identify and analyze potential risks and vulnerabilities, ensuring insurance policies adequately address these risks.
- Continuously evaluate insurance coverage and negotiate terms with insurers to ensure cost-effective and comprehensive protection for the organization.
- Stay informed about international insurance regulations and compliance requirements, ensuring all policies and practices meet legal and regulatory standards in various regions.
- Manage relationships with insurance providers, brokers, and agents to secure competitive rates, favorable terms, and excellent service for the organization.
- Oversee the claims process, ensuring efficient and fair resolution of insurance claims and managing the relationship between the organization and insurers.
- Develop and manage the insurance budget, including premium payments, and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
- Provide regular reports and analytics on insurance coverage, claims, and risk exposure to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Risk Management teams to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and loss prevention programs.
- Develop and maintain crisis response and disaster recovery plans related to insurance coverage and claims.
- Conduct training and awareness programs to educate employees on insurance policies, procedures, and Risk Management practices.
Minimum Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Extensive experience in insurance policy development, Risk Management, and insurance program optimization.
- In-depth knowledge of international insurance regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Leadership experience in managing a team of insurance professionals is preferred.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Certified Risk Manager, Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) are a plus.
